ALBUM: Ought- More Than Another Day

How much a band shows there influences is always a touchy subject; too much and you're brushed off as derivative, not enough and you end up alienating people. Ought seem to hit a pretty good level. Violent Femmes-meets-Slint almost Punk manages to take just the right level of Gang of Four noise-funk to hit all those sweet nostalgia spots but manage to take it in their own direction.

They're revisionists, not revolutionists, but Ought's debut album is a massively enjoyable display of post-punk anthems.
